The Bears beat NC Dino’s 7-0 in the first of the 5-game End of Season Play-Off Semi Finals of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO), on Sunday.

To secure a Semi-Final spot The Bears beat Nexen Heroes 3 games to 2 the end of last week.

The second playoff game between the Bears and the NC Dino’s will take place on Wednesday at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium.

A little bit of background on the Doosan Bears

The Doosan Bears were the first Korean professional baseball team formed in 1982 when the Korean Baseball League (KBL) was launched. The team took its name and logo from the Asiatic black bear that is part of Korea’s foundation myth, the story of Dan-Gun.

Capture1The Bears began its career in professional baseball on March 17 and won the Korean Series in 1982, the first year of pro baseball in Korea (KBL), and helped stimulate interest in the game of baseball. The club then repeated its success by becoming champions again in 1995 and 2001.
