How much will it cost you?

The cost for an apprenticeship at Doosan is free for you; all you need to pay for is your transport to and from work. All we ask for in return is that you have drive and enthusiasm to do well and work hard to learn the job

Frequently Asked Questions

A Doosan apprenticeship lasts approximately 2-3 years. Your Intermediate Apprenticeship usually takes two years to complete, followed by an extra year for your Advanced Apprenticeship.

(2 years for completion of the Intermediate Apprenticeship followed by a further 1 years for the Advanced Apprenticeship)

To be accepted on to the Doosan Apprenticeship Scheme. you will need the following:

GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A – C) in Maths
GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A – C) in English
GCSE grade 4 – 9 (A – C) in one other subject

When you become a Doosan Apprentice, you will receive the following –
• Laptop
• Uniform
• Tools
• First class training environment
• A dedicated mentor
• Travel, hotels and food costs whilst attending college
Yes, you will be guaranteed a job afterwards, as long as you complete your qualification.
Whilst you are a Doosan Apprentice, you will learn the following:

  • Finding electrical faults on a wide range of materials handling equipment
  • Diagnostics and repairs to diesel and gas engines
  • Servicing a wide and varied range of equipment
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing hydraulic systems
  • Stock control
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults to transmission systems
Intermediate Apprenticeship (Year 1 & 2)
• IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair (Competence)
• IMIAL Level 2 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair Principles (Knowledge – required to attend College for 10 weeks each year over a block programme)
• Functional Skill in Maths Level 1
• Functional Skill in English Level 1
• Functional Skill in ICT Level 1
• Award In Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities for the Automotive Sector

Advanced Apprenticeship (Year 3)
• IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair (Competence)
• IMIAL Level 3 Diploma in Lift Truck Maintenance & Repair Principles (Knowledge – required to attend College for up to 12 weeks over a block programme)
• Functional Skill in Maths Level 2
• Functional Skill in English Level 2
• Functional Skill in ICT Level 2
• Award In Knowledge of Employee Rights and Responsibilities for the Automotive Sector

All qualifications are nationally recognised and awarded by IMI (Institute of Motor Industry).

You will work from 08:00 – 16:30 Monday to Friday. Although, you may be required to be as flexible as possible to meet the needs of the business.
